Reviewing Germany’s Development Projects for a Government Agency

Consulting Project | 28 May 2024

Context

Christian and his team won the bid to analyse Germany’s multilateral development projects in lower-income countries.

Role

Together with Dr Bernhard Reinsberg and Dr Timon Forster, Christian drew on his data experience to combine multiple large datasets into a cohesive database. The combined dataset (+400K observations) benchmarked Germany’s multilateral development project using techniques such as automated text analysis and multivariate regressions.

Outcome

Exploiting the Naive Bayes supervised machine learning algorithm, Christian categorically classified Germany’s development projects in developing countries based on their project titles and descriptions.
